a comparison

We have been asked quite a few times who Sara looks like. Nathan's answer to that question is "her". He says Sara looks like Sara. I think he's probably right. However, if you'd like to do some comparing of your own, here are pictures of all three early on.

first "bath"

On Friday, Sara had her first "bath" at home. She did very well. She didn't cry at all until we were drying her off. Mommy gave the bath. Daddy took pictures and video. And Caroline enjoyed watching.

first days home

Tuesday morning, Sara was hanging out on her quilt when Nathan and Caroline decided that she could use some animal friends. Nathan also gave her a train picture. Note that Sara has her dolly (see bottom picture) as well as Caroline's favorite blanket - the purple one. After this picture was taken, William also joined the pile.

Caroline is already being the big sister and teaching Sara about clips.

I like having pictures of the kids on their quilts because I can look back later and compare sizes. Note that Sara is being swamped in these clothes and her feet don't reach where the feet are supposed to go.

And here's a close-up just for fun...eyes open and everything!

The kids love to hold Sara. They don't sit there for long, but they think it's fun. Previously, Nathan has held Sara across in his arms, but I thought this was terribly cute!

I have tried a couple times to get a picture of all three kids. This one still isn't the greatest, but I'm glad to have one that's decent.

I wanted to take a few pictures this afternoon of Sara in some natural light (but too many shadows). I fiddled with her a little too much, though, so we only got a couple. I still love this little balled up picture.

And last but not least...These are the dollies that Nathan's school teacher sent the girls. Caroline thinks it's just great that she and Sara have dolls that are "same". She has really taken a liking to hers and carries her around often. All of her other dolls she calls her "baby dolls", but this one she calls her "dolly". She also loves to give Sara her doll. Just about any time Sara is laying around, Caroline will find her doll and take it to her. I think the whole thing is very cute! (and don't worry...Nathan had a present, too)

first visit to the doctor's office

Sara made her first visit to the doctor's office today. The main reason for this visit was to make sure that she was gaining weight like she needed to do. She was 9 lbs, 7.7 oz at birth. Her discharge weight was 8,11. Today she was 9,2. So, we're good to go. She's gaining weight just fine. Everything else looked good as well.

Sara joins the Kiddos

Sara has made her entrance into the blog world over on Mommy's blog, but here is her first official appearance with the Moseley Kiddos! I tried to pick a representative sample of pictures from her first couple days. You can find more over on Dropshots in a little bit.

This is the first picture taken of Sara after she was delivered.

And here is the first time Mommy got to see her - a few minutes afterwards.

Here you can see that she weighed in at 9 lbs, 7.7 oz. - a big baby.

Then, they finished checking her out while Daddy snapped off lots of pictures. Yay Daddy!

Later in the day (after waiting for them to decide that she was warm enough), Sara got to meet Nathan and Caroline. Caroline wasn't entirely sure about all that was going on - new baby, Mommy in a hospital bed who couldn't really be touched, etc. She was better later in the day when she made her second visit. Nathan was excited from the beginning and was glad to finally meet the baby that he's been talking to inside Mommy's belly.

Here are a couple close-up shots of Sara during our time at the hospital.

Here is how Sara and Daddy spent her second day of life - really, this is where they were almost all day. They both loved it!

I LOVE how little newborns (even the big ones) look when they're not wearing very many clothes. And I LOVE it when they sleep on me like this!

Welcome to the land of the Moseley Kiddos, Sara!
